Tored-A: Newly Found Mac OSX Email Worm

OSX/Tored-A is the name that has been given to the newly found email worm for Mac OSX. The worm has targeted a considerable number of Apple’s OSX users and its being propagated through infected hosts generated emails.
With its backdoor functionality, the worm allows the author to create a botnet, send spam and perform DDoS attacks.Right now the worm is not spreading wild, but it is quite similar in features that
have been found in the OSX.Torjan.iService.A. However, according to some vendors, it is lame and because of some bugs the code it can’t be succeeded to spread successfully.
“As it’s an email aware worm that strives to scoop email addresses through infected Mac computer and then infects some other computers and that’s why it is quite different. But as it has bugs in its code and it indicates that you will never be able to encounter any problem with it. So you need not to lose your sleep anymore, as author takes some time to correct those spelling mistakes in mails it attempts to send.”
But it has a backdoor functionality which allows author to develop a botnet and activate DDoS attack that can be somewhat damaging.
