Norton Online Family arrives

Symantec, quite well-known for its different security software, has just
released a new program that is designed to educate parents about the Internet use of their children. This new program has been named as Norton Online Family and its beta version is now available. This program has been based on a parental control suite that has various levels of restriction and emphases on internet usage reporting.
According to Symantec their Online Family will offer a great help to bridge the gape that exists between parents and children regarding internet use. This Online Family will foster communication to bridge that gape. Results of a study show that nearly 7% parents believe that their kids don’t have any online supervision, while 66% children believe that they are unsupervised.
Online Family will use a desktop client known as Norton Safety Minder for Mac and c to address the problem. It will feature customization levels of parental control that based on accounts of the computer users.
It will help to log as well as block websites by using a traditional blacklist or a topic blocker. This Online Family will also include some new features that according to claims are more than just blacklist, keylogger and souped-up.
