Nokia N97: A Highly Anticipated Smartphone
Categories: Cell Phones, Product Reviews Tags: Add new tag, nokia n97, social networking, touchscreen smart phones, wi-fi, xpressMusic 5800
Nokia has not been quick in entering the competition of Touchscreen mobile
phones. It had been XpressMusic 5800 which gave Nokia a breakthrough in Touchscreen market. Following the tradition, Nokia announced the second Touchscreen smart phone in Dec 2008, which is likely to be released in June 2009. Anticipated as iPhone’s true and genuine competitor and packed with all state-of-the-art features and applications, Nokia N97 has lot of expectations attached to its arrival.

Features:
Nokia says the N97 is “the most advanced mobile computer”. Having a close look at its features, the declaration doesn’t seem hyped. Talking about the design, this phone has a stylish slider design. The full 3.5” Touchscreen hides QWERTY keyboard beneath it. When one slides the phone, the screen rests at 45 degrees angle, which is very easy to work with. D-pad works well with browsing, whereas keys are rubber-made and nicely spaced.
Wireless internet connectivity is speedy and quick, allowing an enhanced emailing and browsing experience. A 5 mp camera captures the best moments, and one can upload them after being geo-tagged via AGPS directly through the fast internet and OVI share. Memory storage is more than enough with 32GB (expandable to 48 GB). For improved social networking, there is an always-on one-button access. Sound is awesome with stereo speakers.
Pros:
Wide Touchscreen
Full QWERTY keyboard with nicely spaced keys
Wireless internet connectivity
GPS and AGPS support
5 mp camera
Feasible 45 degree angle position of screen
Cons:
It seems as if critics haven’t found enough to point out yet, may be they can fine something bigger to criticize than high price.
It is indeed Nokia’s fullest phone ever, though it doesn’t compete very well with the existing Touchscreen smart phones. Let us wait till it releases in June.
