The Nokia N97 is a multimedia smart phone, announced in December 2008,
likely to be presented in the market by June 2009. Many expectations are attached to this phone, as it contains almost all the major features of a modern-era mobile phone.
N97 is a Touchscreen mobile phone, with a slide-out full QWERTY keypad, contained safely inside the sliding upper piece. It is the second Touchscreen phone by Nokia, first being 5800 Xpress Music.

Nokia asserts that it is going to be “the most advanced mobile computer”, and has a firm foundation to say this. Equipped with almost every up-to-date functional element, Nokia N73 seems to be a potential rival of iPhone.
Pros:
It is a slider-phone, which rests at a feasible 45 degrees when slides to
expose full QWERTY keyboard. Nicely-spaced rubber keys and a practical D-pad, under a scratch less Touchscreen surface make it a well-formed handset.
An awesome photo taking and sharing experience is just another boost to N97’s market value. Nokia makes this possible with a 5mp camera, equipped with a dual Carl Zeiss lens, high-speed internet, and OVI-share.
GPS provides with location guidance, whereas WI-FI and HSDPA give an enhanced swift web-browsing experience, though this is not specifically a business phone. Also, there is an always-on one-button access to social networking sites, like Face book, provided.
Stereo speakers, and a 3.5 inches video display give the user all pleasure one wants from one’s Music Phone, with innumerable audio and video tracks stored in the 32 GB phone memory.
Cons:
Critics haven’t come up with any practical discrepancy present in this smart phone yet. All the criticism encircles looks, high expectations and its comparison with iPhone.
“This is a world where you will have the power to tailor and personalise your internet how and when you like, to make your day-to-day life easier and more fulfilling,” says Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, chief executive of Nokia. In all, N97 is Nokia’s most complete smart phone yet.
