These days, a new type of portable PCs is being widely appreciated, which
are basically a hybrid of laptops and net books. Notebooks and net books are mingling into each other to give birth to a new sort of portable computers; the Laptop-Net book Hybrid. The concept behind this fusion is to provide ultra portability to the users with full functionality and usefulness of notebooks. Such a hybrid has been released by HP by the name of HP Pavilion dv2. Following are the major specs of this ultra portable laptop from HP :

Features:
This is a 12” wide screen laptop, possessing AMD Athelon Neo processor, which is a little better performer than the typical net book processors like Intel Atom and Via Nano. This processor is targeted at a bit larger computers. Clocktime for Athelon Neo is 1.6GHz, and it has ATI Radeon graphics incorporated. Users have the options of Windows Vista only.
It has been finished in high gloss, and the touch pad is mirrored (which is not very efficient and quick). On the keyboard tray, there is an imprinted whirl design, and the keys are placed closely to each other. Getting used to the keys takes time. It is thinner than its rivals, and for this reason it seems pricier than it really is.
The 12.1” LED screen offers a 1,280×800 native resolution, which is a standard for12”-15” laptops, usually. Not only the internet browsing experience is enhanced with this resolution than one of a net book, but also this display is perfectly suitable to watch 720p HD video content.
Vista runs efficiently with 1.6GHz Neo. This computer is pretty quicker and faster than the computers which use Intel Atom or Via Nano in functions such as iTunes encoding or Photoshop image processing. Though in multitasking, it’s functioning was as unimpressive as of Atom’s.
Pros:
First laptop to use new AMD Athlon Neo CPU
Attractive looks
4 GB RAM
Not pricey
Slim and lightweight
Cons:
No internal optical drive
Weak and unimpressive battery life
Closely placed keys on keyboard
Mirrored touchpad is difficult to use
Final Words:
This is the first laptop using the AMD Athelon Neo Processor, which is intended by HP to be used as a “platform for ultra thin notebooks.” HP is looking forward to create a new category in portable computer market with computers such as Pavilion dv2.
