Phoebe, Rory and little Jennifer Gates look somewhat sad these days, and perhaps the reason is that their parents don’t allow them to have an iPhone or iPod. But the question is what the choice is for these kids before cheering up the iPhone haters.

Melinda says in an interview with Vogue: “In our daily household, there are only two few things that are banned and iPhones and iPods are among these things that we don’t want our kids to have.”

Come on Bill! You, yourself have given a backhand compliment to iPhone in your interview with BusinessWeek: “The only nicest thing about iPhone is its Software.”

Now if you admitted that, you should also try to make your kids and wife happy and let them have what their lots of friends have. Let them pick their favorite iPod color if you really waiting for joyful flickers on their faces.

No doubt, you have a clear cut view of reality which is a lot better than Steve Ballmer who said once in an interview: “ The chances are bleak that iPhone is going to get some significant market share.”
