CTIA 09: Microsoft may show off its Windows Marketplace for Mobile

CTIA 2009 is drawing near, so you must hope for lots of uncovering of new
inventions, but what would you really find out, only time can and will tell. However, regardless to what other players will come up with, Microsoft has decided to release some details of its coming Windows Marketplace for Mobile in this event. Aside from the Windows Marketplace, the software giant will also bring its ties to the fashion world into light.
The concept is not a new one and it’s being reinvented seeing Apple’s App Store huge success. The arrival of the Windows Marketplace for Mobile is expected later this year at the time when Windows Mobile 6.5 will also be ready for a launch, however, Microsoft has decided to give some details how users will be able to pick, buy and download some application from their Windows Mobile devices.
News and rumors have been circulating about the Windows Marketplace for Mobile for quite some time, and it seems that Microsoft wants to develop similar model to share revenue as Apple is using these days. According to the model, 70% of application revenue would go to the developer and 30% to Microsoft.
Microsoft’s Bach Hudson to announce that Windows Mobile users will have 24hrs to return some application they buy for a full refund. Users will be able to buy these applications through a website or on their phones and billing to be done through credit card or wireless carrier’s bill.
