Canon is again here with its latest DSLR camera EOS 500D with 15 MP resolution and high definition video recording, plus a big price tag. It is a nice quality camera with fine features and fast speed, though the video is not top notch. Let us have a look at its specs and features.

Features:
With the big price tag, this Canon digital SLR is certainly not meant for the entry level buyers. The £750 tag is for a body-only version with no lens; it costs around £830 with lens.
500D is identical twin of 450D in terms of body, weight (almost) and shooting experience. Plastic body feels cheap, as well as the grip is not very nice, too. The 3 inch LCD display is fixed. Most of the control buttons are present near to the right hand and are of different shapes in order to let the user identify each without having to look at them every time. “My Menu”, “Creative auto” and dedicated movie selection buttons add to its charm.
5 MP APS C size CMOS sensor (for Canon’s traditional 1.6x focal-length multiplier) and the 9 point user selectable auto-focus system are its main features. Performance level is great as it shoots within 2 seconds of switching it on. Focusing and shooting in bright light takes 3 sec and in dim light takes 6 sec.
Pros:
- Great photo quality
- HD video capture
- Fast performance
Cons:
- Pricey
- Irritating viewfinder
- Average video capture
Final Words:
The fast performance and good photo quality make it a nice option, but the price factor remains there. Pros and cons are in front of you, and you can decide if you want to have this camera or not.
