You might have seen many application stores from different networks like Apple, Verizon and Orange etc. Now news has been flashed from the PCworld magazine that almost 24 mobile network operators have combined to form a new Wholesale community and the aim is to avoid the distribution of their applications to the Apps market and provide one platform where all developers can submit their application and this announcement has been made from the GSM association. Thus the developer’s applications will be distributed on a single place without any need to go for different application approval processes.

According to GSMA the members of the wholesale applications community includes AT&T, China Mobile, Deutsche Telekom, NTT DoCoMo, Orange, Telefónica, Telenor Group, Sprint, Verizon Wireless and Vodafone and it is also reported that the operators in the group have 3 billion subscribes. This community is now receiving some obstacles according to some analysts and according to them “Big challenges remain overcoming inconsistency between standards bodies like JIL and Bondi”. The idea for this new community really sounds very exciting and once established fully this will be able to work properly by benefiting all the developers.
