The UK Girl Guide association called Girlguiding UK has conducted a survey recently, asking young girls about being harassed at the internet. The results of survey show shockingly high percentage of young ladies being bullied while using internet, by not only men but by girls, too.
The survey included more than 1000 girls, where they were asked whether they had been harassed on the internet ever. Results showed that 28% of girls aging 10-18 years had been bullied online with a rising trend of girls bullying girls. The association thinks that it is their responsibility to guide females how to protect themselves and how to tackle situations that seem threatening.
Acknowledging the gravity of such increasing trends and incidents, the Girlguiding UK chief executive Denise King said, “However, we also want to emphasize to girls the skills involved in being a good friend and these are important not just when you are young but throughout your life.” It means that bad behaviors can be conquered by nice reactions and low tones. In other words, humility is the key to success.
The organization has released a guide to tell girls and women how to handle a situation and has emphasized the importance of friendship.
